Florida’s Assisted Living Communities have been reviewing their existing procedures and staff training since Coronovirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) was reported in the United States.  Assisted Living professionals understand they serve a population that is particularly vulnerable to respiratory illnesses and, as such, have been monitoring authoritative guidance coming from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Florida’s Department of Health.  Health care professionals are also on the front line of exposure to illnesses and are justifiably concerned about infection.    

As the first COVID-19 cases are being reported in Florida, the Florida Senior Living Association is conducting a one-hour webinar to refresh assisted living providers on what we know about the COVID-19 epidemiology and ramping up universal precautions to protect staff and residents.
