No Patient Left Alone Act Webinar
April 19, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am UTC-5
Join FSLA and IceBridge, LLC ’s Monica Wilson as we review and discuss the new law’s requirements and the steps communities can take to implement the visitation requirements by May 6, 2022.
Visitation policies and procedures must address, among other things: infection control and education; screening, personal protective equipment, and other infection control protocols for visitors; permissible length of visits and number of visitors, which must meet or exceed the current visitation standards for ALFs; and designation of a person responsible for ensuring that staff adhere to the policies and procedures.
These policies and procedures must be provided to AHCA with license application, renewal, change of ownership, and upon AHCA’s request. The policies must also be posted on the community’s homepage within 24 hours of implementation.
The new law also allows a resident to designate an essential caregiver (e.g., a family member, friend, guardian, or other individual) who must be allowed in-person visitation for at least two hours daily in addition to any other visitation authorized by the ALF.
