Resources and Advanced Training Opportunities
Florida Senior Living Association provides its members with the resources necessary to meet state requirements and more. Our members have access to state-of-the-art professional training, a statewide annual conference featuring nationally recognized presenters, online education, webinars, and certification opportunities at discounted rates. FSLA is an approved provider through the Florida Board of Nursing and the Florida Board of Nursing Home Administrators.
Representation before the Legislature and Regulatory Agencies
Our association is extremely active in the legislative and regulatory processes, and we have successfully created significant and positive policy changes since we were established six short years ago. We have worked hard to earn a reputation as the premiere trusted association for the industry, and we advocate on our members’ behalf on a continuous basis with the legislature, state agencies and other stakeholder groups.
Access to Proactive Counsel, Advocacy and Strategy
When you have an issue, we’ll not only help you resolve it, we’ll look for proactive ways to prevent it from reoccurring in the future. This includes advocating on your behalf with state and local agencies, drafting and passing proactive legislation, and providing input into the regulatory process.
GRASSROOTS AND COMMUNICATIONS
The association provides ongoing communications including alerts, monthly newsletters, regulatory updates, and development of a grassroots networking and outreach program.
Assistance with Business-Minded Solutions
Our members may have communities throughout Florida or in multiple locations in other states. That’s why FSLA meets in person several times per year and holds monthly conference calls with other state association executives to keep up with issues happening throughout the country.

Provider Pledge
My company operates professionally managed and appropriately licensed senior living communities. We provide an environment that fosters independence, dignity, and respect for our residents, families, and employees. We are equally committed to encouraging an optimal quality of life for the seniors who live in our communities.
We support the Florida Senior Living Association’s Core Principles of choice, independence, dignity, accessibility, and quality of life for all seniors. We support the Florida Senior Living Association’s Public Policy Positions of informed choice, resident rights, quality staffing, appropriate infrastructure, appropriate oversight, and zero tolerance for elder abuse. We ensure that residents and their families are fully informed to make their best decisions about living arrangements and other services. We provide detailed information about the living environment, any amenities and/or services we offer, and the fees for such services. We provide a written summary of our community’s policies and procedures including reasons that may require the resident to move to another setting and our dispute and complaint resolution process. We provide information about the resident’s rights, as defined by state law or regulation, as well as contact information for the local/state long term care ombudsman and the state regulatory agency if appropriate. We honor all written commitments made to residents and their families.
We ensure that quality improvement is a critical part of our ongoing work and we focus our improvement efforts in those areas deemed most important by our customers and by our team members. To these ends, we are committed to obtaining feedback from families, residents, and team members on a regular basis.
