Professional Development

The Florida Senior Living Association’s Professional Development Program focuses on laws and rules specific to your operations in Florida.

Assisted living administrators must first complete a 26-hour course taught by a state-approved ALF Core Trainer. They must then register and pass a state exam provided by the University of South Florida.

Florida Senior Living Association’s Core Training courses are scheduled in conjunction with USF’s scheduled ALF Exam dates and locations.

Once you pass the exam, you will receive a certificate from the state. After that, an administrator complete 12 hours of continuing education every two years on subject matters related to assisted living.

We offer the following training programs:

Blended Core Training
12-Hour Refresher Course
Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia Care

We want to hear from you about your experience so please send us your comments. We are making improvements and changes on a regular basis.

If you have any questions or problems, please call 850-708-4972 or email info@floridaseniorliving.org and someone will help you.

Thank you and we hope that you enjoy the training!
